Eucharistic visitors are lay people who have been trained to give the Holy Eucharist to those who are unable to attend church services. Eucharistic visitors must be licensed by the diocese.
Eucharistic visitor training sessions are led by a clergy person and an experienced eucharistic visitor.
To be licensed by the bishop as a lay eucharistic visitor, one must complete training, be up to date with Safe Church training and have signed authorization from the clergy person of their congregation.
The application for licensing is available here.
See calendar box at upper right for links to event registration.
For more information about upcoming trainings and licensing requirements, contact Martha Gardner, Missioner for Networking and Formation, at mgardner@diomass.org or 617-482-4826, ext. 403.
Inquiries are welcome from those interested in providing local trainings at the deanery level.
