Award-winning American composer Delvyn Case conducts the Deus Ex Musica Ensemble in a live performance of his dramatic new solo cantata based on Genesis 22. Daring to imagine an alternative ending to this infamous story, this 25-minute piece explores the complex theological, narrative, and interpretive challenges of this infamous Biblical passage. The performance will be followed by an interfaith panel of scholars and clergy.
This free public event is presented as part of the national conference of the American Academy of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature. Sponsored by the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning at Boston College and co-produced by Deus Ex Musica.
