The Office of the Bishop has issued the following pastoral announcement:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We are saddened to inform you of the death of the Rev. John McLaughlin in Saranac Lake, New York, on April 5, 2023.
John served as priest-in-charge at St. John’s Church in Franklin from 1949 until 1950, and as rector of Trinity Church in Weymouth from 1950 until 1955. After serving in Connecticut, John returned to Massachusetts, where he served as rector of St. Peter’s Church in Dartmouth from 1963 until 1970, rector of St. Paul’s Church in Newburyport from 1970 until 1978, and finally as vicar of the Church of St. Mary of the Harbor in Provincetown from 1979 until 1987.
A memorial service was held on April 20, at St. Luke’s Church in Saranac Lake, New York.
May the soul of God’s faithful servant departed rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.
