The following update from Canon Bill Parnell was sent to clergy and wardens, with the invitation to share with members of congregational regathering teams.
As cooler weather arrives and outdoor gatherings become less feasible, we are hearing a desire for conversation and further guidance about gathering in our churches as the pandemic continues. We realize there is considerable anxiety about a number of pandemic-related matters, including ventilation of buildings (guidance provided in this Sept. 3 update may be useful to review), Christmas services and pageants (this webinar recording and accompanying booklet are one suggested resource), caring for neighbors in need and minimizing risk with the rising number of COVID-19 cases in many communities (see this map showing risk levels in each city and town, along with the most recent data for cases, testing and local trajectory of the pandemic). Canon Bill Parnell will host the following series of Zoom gatherings next week as opportunities to have conversation, ask questions and share learning for the coming winter season. Zoom links were e-mailed directly to clergy and wardens.
