Several dozen residents–young and old–turned out Wednesday night [March 14] for an interfaith vigil at the center of Town House Square to protest gun violence.
The Rev. Deborah Phillips, Rector of Grace Church, called for attendees to renew their “commitment to pray and take action to overcome a culture of violence.”
A 170-seconds-long moment of silence was also observed, measured to include 10 seconds for each victim in the Parkland shooting one month ago.
“As we stand here in silence,” Phillips said, “let us renew our resolve to protect kids and make this country a better place.”
