The Allston Abbey Campaign in Honor of Bishop Alan M. Gates
The Allston Abbey is a collaborative mission for learning, worship and ministry sponsored by the Diocese of Massachusetts. Located on the campus of the former Church of St. Luke and St. Margaret in Boston's Allston neighborhood, Allston Abbey envisions a fresh, collaborative model of church where different ministries work together to embody the Good News of Jesus through authentic and mutual relationships with neighbors.
Bishop Gates is especially excited about the Abbey’s collaboration with the Anglican Episcopal Community of Learning at Boston University School of Theology. The Allston Abbey has created space for offices, trainings, worship and gatherings of the Community of Learning. This campaign seeks to raise funds to complete residential facilities for the students. Envisioned are four dormitory spaces, plus a kitchen, bathrooms and common space in the lower level of the parish hall.
This project is important to Bishop Gates and, in his honor as he prepares to retire, we look forward to raising the funds to complete it!
