Saint Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church will celebrate a significant milestone this weekend – the 100th anniversary of the opening of its original worship space.
"Everyone’s heart is really in the chapel," Reverend Barbara Williamson said. "It’s the birthplace of this congregation." Saint Elizabeth’s Chapel, built between 1912 and 1914, is a small stone building set into the woods between today’s church and Whitehall, the summer home of the chapel’s architect, Ralph Adams Cram. The mansion, now privately owned, can still be glimpsed from Concord Road, just before the turnoff for the chapel’s parking lot.
