At an important time of religious and town-wide reflection, Grace Community Church transferred Marblehead Ministerial Association’s covenant documents over to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church during a predominately sung liturgy service Sunday evening.
The annual Interfaith Covenant exchange was held inside the Pleasant Street Episcopal church’s ornate sanctuary and comes as St. Michael’s congregation observes its 300th anniversary. Moreover, it also comes 25 years after miscreants vandalized and desecrated Temple Emanu-El and the Jewish Community Center.
After the act of vandalism, the Marblehead Ministerial Association Covenant was created and signed by the 13 different synagogues or churches that comprise the association in an act of solidarity. Since 1989, the covenant has rotated among places of worship. Click the link above to read more.
