2024 Clergy Professional Development Day: Safe Church Review Session on Zoom

Clergy Professional Development Days are offered in two parts, with each part held four times between January and March. In 2024 participants in the Clergy Professional Development Day workshop session will engage with how to avoid anti-Judaism in preaching and worship during Holy Week. The Rev. Dr. Dan Joslyn-Siemiatkoski will illustrate the key issues and pitfalls regarding preaching and practice during Holy Week. Participants will learn together in finding alternatives that faithfully proclaim the Gospel while avoiding anti-Judaism. Being equipped to avoid anti-Judaism during this season will have the added benefit of empowering participants to serve as better allies to their own local Jewish communities.

The Safe Church review sessions will be conducted by the Rev. Canon Bill Parnell and Martha Gardner, Missioner for Networking and Formation.

All clergy are encouraged to take advantage of the workshop. Clergy due for a Safe Church refresher in 2024 should attend both the workshop and the review segment. Clergy may choose to attend the segments in any order and in any combination.
