The summer season at the Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center in Greenfield, N.H., will soon be underway with two new staff members on board.
Alessia Doss has been hired as camp director and assistant to the executive director, and comes
to the job with a wealth of camp experience, having grown up going to Camp Bement, the former camp of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts. She has worked at five different residential and day camps around New England, most recently as camp director at a day camp in Concord, Mass. Doss received her master's degree in social work from Simmons College in 2010, and her area of focus has been in promoting positive youth development through summer camp, team building and adventure therapy."We are so excited to have Alessia on board. Her skill set and knowledge of our Episcopal tradition will keep our camp one of the finest in all of New England," executive director John Koch said.
Additionally, Jessica Montana has been hired as the new guest services manager. She has been
an apprentice for the past eight months at St. Dorothy's Rest in Sonoma County, Calif. After getting a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Connecticut, Montana was a team leader for AmeriCorps NCCC for 11 months. During her four projects, she traveled to California, Oregon and Washington helping various non-profits."Jessica's work at St. Dorothy's Rest in the Diocese of California makes her a valuable new addition to our staff," Koch said. "We look forward to her new energy and ideas."
Registration for summer camp is open, here, where schedule and financial aid information also are available. There are five one-week sessions between June 30 and Aug. 3, offering fun, friendship and faith formation for children and youth in grades four through 11.
