The Diocese of Massachusetts' fall Resource Day is an annual learning event that brings together leadership teams from congregations around the diocese for skill-building and best-practices workshops on an array of topics and for networking with one another. This year's event, on Saturday, Sept. 29, will offer all of that, along with a couple of innovations to the format: A special guest speaker--the Rev. Tom Brackett, the Episcopal Church Center's missioner for church planting and ministry redevelopment--has been added to the program, and workshop offerings will be fewer in number than in past years but longer to allow for more in-depth focus on seven topics related to the day's theme: "The Church is Changing: Are You Ready?"
Those topics include visioning and re-visioning for the future; faith formation for the future; renewing worship; connecting through digital ministry; becoming an inclusive and welcoming church; equipping leaders for transformation; and expanding church buildings' ministry.
Resource Day takes place on Saturday, Sept. 29, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at Mass Bay Community College's Wellesley Hills campus (a new location this year). Registration is open and more information, including workshop descriptions, is available here.
