The Disability Committee

It is canon law and the policy of the Episcopal Church not to discriminate on the basis of disability.

The diocesan Disability Concerns Committee would like every parish to address disability concerns, even if you think your buildings are inaccessible. This is part of good hospitality and community outreach, to prospective members, occasional visitors, and community groups, as well as good service to parishioners who have or acquire disabilities. Disability concerns that can be addressed include, architectural accessibility for people using wheelchairs, or baby strollers (bathrooms, meeting rooms, worship space), large print and Braille worship aids, assistive listening devices, Christian Education programs for children with special needs, the needs of senior members, i.e. hearing loss, etc.
