"Rheinberger’s Requiem" Concert in Cambridge

The Jubilate Chamber Choir, a choir in residence at the Church of St. Andrew in Marblehead, will be presenting a requiem concert on November 21 at St. Andrew’s, and on November 28 at St. Peter’s Church in Central Square, Cambridge.

Under the direction of Mary Jodice, the ensemble will perform Requiem in E flat major by Josef Rheinberger, as well as “There Is a Balm in Gilead” by Nicholas White and “My soul, there is a country” by H. H. Parry.

Founded in 2020, Jubilate performs concerts and Evensong services regularly. They are recipients of a Phoenix Award from Choral Arts New England, in recognition of responding to the pandemic with resilience and ingenuity. Members include Sarah Coffman, Cameron Dobson, Sarah Hunter, Caitlin Laird, Jeffrey Smith, Jay Verchin, and Grant Yosnick.

The St. Andrew’s concert will be at 7 p.m., and the St. Peter’s concert will be at 8 p.m. (The November 21 concert will be streamed live from St. Andrew’s via Facebook live (@StAndrewsMarblehead) as well as broadcast on Salem Access Television.) Tickets, sold at the door, will be $20 for adults and $10 for students. Both churches are handicapped accessible. In accordance with the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, masks must be worn inside during the concerts.
