Climate crisis workshop: an ecumenical gathering for Christian clergy

Clergy from the diocese are invited to "Healing God's Planet in Peril - A Gathering of Christian Leaders for Inspiration, Prayer, Briefings and Strategy," a workshop at Andover Newton Theological Seminary in Newton.

Speakers with diocesan affiliations include the Rev. Margaret Bullitt-Jonas, a retreat leader and climate activist; and Bishop Steven Charleston, president and dean of the Episcopal Divinity School, who will present a new interfaith initiative, the Genesis Covenant (www.genesiscovenant.org).

Other presentations will focus on the latest science, strategies and advocacy initiatives. Participants will receive information and resources to help engage laity on energy and climate issues and to support positive, effective action; they will also have the opportunity to share their own concerns and observations. 

The workshop runs 12-4 p.m. on Thursday, June 5 and includes lunch. The registration fee is $30, payable at the door or by check made out to "Clean Water Action - June 5 Climate Seminar" sent to:
